Benzophenone-3 (BP-3) is a naturally occurring chemical found in some flowering plants
BP-3 absorbs and scatters the sun’s harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays.
Used in sun care products, color cosmetics and fragrances.
Primarily act as chemical sunscreen agent that absorbs UVB and short UVA rays. OTC sunscreen ingredient, but only in concentrations up to 6%.
Recommended percentage use= 0.5- 6%
